A New Face in the Garden

Daisy picked up her favorite sparkly pencil and smiled at Sophie across their classroom desk. The morning sun streamed through the crystal windows of Mystic Moonhaven School, making the stardust particles in the air shimmer like tiny diamonds.

"Girls, gather around please," Mr. Max called from the front of the room. His kind eyes twinkled as he adjusted his moon-colored tie. "We have someone special joining us today."

Anna fluttered her shimmering wings and landed on Sophie's shoulder. "I wonder who it is," she whispered, her purple eyes bright with curiosity.

A girl with red pigtails stepped forward. She wore a fancy silver dress and held her chin high. "I'm Cherry," she announced loudly. "And I'm really good at everything."

The Spinner Incident

Mr. Max clapped his hands together. "Today we're going to play the Game of Life! Cherry, would you like to join Daisy, Sophie, and Anna?"

Cherry's eyes lit up. "Of course I'll play. I always win this game." She marched over to their table and grabbed the spinner. "I'll go first, obviously."

"Wait," Sophie said, reaching for the spinner too. "We usually take turns picking who goes first."

"That's silly," Cherry snapped, pulling the spinner away. "I'm the best at board games, so I should lead." She spun hard, making the game pieces scatter across the desk.

Anna fluttered her wings nervously. The fairy landed next to Daisy's shoulder. "Maybe we could all choose our game pieces together?" she suggested softly.

"No," Cherry said firmly, scooping up all the colorful pieces. "I pick the pink car. You three can have whatever's left."
