Morning Preparations

Buck stretched his antlers as morning sunlight streamed through the tall windows of Atomic Crayon Tower. The light blue crayon towers surrounding his home sparkled in the dawn light, casting cheerful shadows across Antler Metropolis below.

"Today's the day," he said, pulling on his black and light blue supersuit. The Giant Crayon Competition would be the biggest art contest the city had ever seen, and Buck had been preparing for weeks.

He summoned his giant magic crayon, watching it materialize in his gloved hands with a soft blue glow. The crayon hummed with energy, almost eager to create something magnificent.

Buck practiced a few quick sketches on his drawing pad. A simple flower bloomed to life on the paper, its petals rustling gently. He quickly erased it before it could grow any larger.

"Just need to keep it simple today," he muttered, though the crayon seemed to pulse with its own ideas about what "simple" meant.

The Registration Booth

Buck flew down from his tower toward the competition registration booth in Central Art Plaza. The morning air felt crisp against his mask as he spotted the long line of artists waiting with their supplies.

"Next!" called a cheerful elderly woman with silver hair pulled back in a neat bun. She wore a bright purple apron covered in paint splatters and held a clipboard in her wrinkled hands.

Buck landed softly and approached the booth. "I'm here to register for the Giant Crayon Competition."

The woman's green eyes sparkled behind round glasses. "Oh my! A superhero artist! How exciting." She looked at his glowing crayon with curiosity. "That's quite the art tool you have there, young deer."

"It's magical," Buck explained, trying to keep his voice casual. "But I'll keep things simple today."

"Simple is good," she nodded, writing his name on a form. "I'm Mrs. Sketch, the contest coordinator. Your drawing station is number seven in the main plaza."

Buck thanked her and walked toward the competition area. Artists were already setting up easels and unpacking supplies. The prize booth caught his eye - a golden trophy shaped like a giant crayon gleamed in the sunlight.

His magic crayon pulsed eagerly in his hands.
