Morning Sketches
Sketch Man floated three feet above his drawing desk, blue cape rippling as he concentrated on his latest creation. The pencil moved across the paper without him touching it, guided by his telekinesis. Silver gloves caught the morning sunlight streaming through the tall windows of Sketch Base.
"Perfect," he muttered, adding final details to a cityscape of Draw City. The buildings looked so real they seemed to pop off the page.
His phone buzzed on the desk below. A text from the mayor: "Art thief spotted near Deer Park. Need your help!"
Sketch Man grinned and tucked the phone into his utility belt. He loved when his superhero duties mixed with his artistic passion. The blue mask felt snug against his face as he prepared to fly out.
But first, he wanted to finish this drawing. Just one more building to add to the skyline.
The Flash at the Market
Sketch Man swooped down toward Deer Park, his silver boots touching the pavement near the fountain. The art museum stood across the street, its glass doors wide open. Strange.
"Help! Someone stole my sketches!" A young deer girl with tan fur and worried brown eyes ran toward him. She wore a purple hoodie and carried an empty portfolio case.
"I'm Doodle," she said, catching her breath. "I was showing my drawings to the elderly woman who runs the art supply market over there." She pointed to a colorful tent with paintbrushes hanging from the corners.
Sketch Man nodded. "What exactly happened?"
"The woman said she had a special pencil that could make any drawing come to life. She asked to see my best work, then touched her pencil to mine while I was holding it." Doodle's voice trembled. "There was this bright flash, and suddenly I felt... different."
"Different how?"
Doodle held up her hand. A small energy ball appeared above her palm, crackling with blue light. "I can do things I've never done before. But look." She grabbed a nearby stick and tried to draw in the dirt. Nothing happened except messy scratches.
Sketch Man tried to lift his own pencil with telekinesis. It didn't budge.
