The Great Canvas Valley Mix-Up

Morning Mysteries
Ms. Crayon Bison stretched her powerful arms and yawned, her small curved horns catching the morning sunlight streaming through the crystal windows of her mansion. The walls around her sparkled with embedded crayons of every color, creating rainbow patterns across the stone floors.
"Another beautiful day to help Canvas Valley," she said, adjusting her blue and black supersuit. Her light blue gloves gleamed as she summoned her giant magic crayon, which appeared in a shimmer of colored light.
She stepped onto her balcony and gazed across Canvas Valley City. Below, humans hurried to work while humanoid animals opened their shops. A lesbian couple walked their dog past the fountain in the town square.
Ms. Crayon Bison took a deep breath, ready to fly out and patrol the city. But when she tried to lift off, her feet remained firmly planted on the balcony floor.
"That's strange," she muttered, trying again. Nothing happened.
She attempted her crayon blast power, but only regular crayon shavings fell from her magical tool.
Something was very wrong.
The Morning After Everything Changed
Ms. Crayon Bison rushed down the spiral staircase of her mansion, her hooves clicking against the stone steps. She needed to find out what happened to her powers.
Outside, Canvas Valley City buzzed with unusual activity. A jogger ran past her gate, but instead of his usual steady pace, he moved in slow motion through the air, floating three feet above the sidewalk.
"What in the world?" Ms. Crayon Bison gasped.
At the corner bakery, she watched through the window as Mrs. Henderson, the elderly human baker, lifted enormous sacks of flour with one finger. The woman's eyes glowed bright blue as she kneaded dough without touching it.
Ms. Crayon Bison stepped inside. "Mrs. Henderson, how are you doing that?"
The baker looked confused. "Doing what, dear? I woke up feeling strange this morning, like I could move mountains."
A crash echoed from the street. The floating jogger had accidentally collided with a street lamp, bending the metal pole in half.
"Everyone has superpowers except me," Ms. Crayon Bison whispered, her heart sinking. "But why?"
