The Great Cheese Rain
Listen to audiobook
A Perfect Morning
Mickle Mouse stretched his tiny paws and yawned inside his cozy clubhouse. Sunlight streamed through the colorful windows, painting rainbow patterns on the wooden floor.
"What a beautiful day for an adventure!" he said, adjusting his miniature explorer's hat.
His friend Goofy poked his head through the doorway. "Morning, Mickle! Ready for our picnic?"
"Almost!" Mickle replied, packing his small backpack with crackers and juice boxes. "Just need to grab the blanket."
Outside, birds chirped merrily in the grand oak tree. The clubhouse felt extra magical today, with its bright walls practically glowing in the morning light.
Goofy scratched his head. "Those clouds look funny," he said, pointing upward.
Mickle glanced up. Strange yellow clouds were gathering overhead, much thicker than normal clouds. "Probably just a spring shower coming," he said cheerfully.
Yellow Drops
Just then, the first yellow drops began to fall. But these weren't raindrops at all.
"Cheese!" Mickle squeaked, catching a gooey piece on his tiny paw. "It's raining cheese!"
More chunks tumbled from the sky, splattering against the clubhouse walls. A wedge of cheddar bonked Goofy on the head.
"Gawrsh, this is getting messy!" Goofy said, dodging a flying piece of swiss.
The cheese fell faster and faster. Soon, golden streams poured down like a waterfall. Mickle watched in amazement as his beloved clubhouse disappeared under a growing mountain of cheese.
"We're getting buried!" he called out.
The cheese pile reached the windows, then climbed higher. Within minutes, only the very top of the oak tree peeked out above the cheesy mess.
