The Great Color Drought

The Morning Patrol
Crayon Marker Tigress stretched her arms and yawned as the morning sun painted golden stripes across Craft Room Jungle City. From her window in Crayon Marker Tower, she watched the bustling streets below where humans, humanoid tigers, and humanoid deer hurried to work.
"Another peaceful morning," she said, adjusting her red cape.
She grabbed her giant crayon and giant marker from their stands. The crayon felt solid and reassuring in her grip. Time for her daily patrol.
Flying through the crisp air, she spotted Mrs. Deer loading colorful art supplies into her van outside the elementary school. The tigress waved, and Mrs. Deer smiled back.
"Good morning, Tigress!" called Mr. Bear from his paint shop. "Beautiful day, isn't it?"
She nodded and continued her flight. Everything seemed normal. The flower gardens bloomed in brilliant reds and yellows. The playground equipment gleamed in bright blues and greens.
But something felt different today. A strange quiet had settled over the city.
The Gray Morning
As Tigress flew closer to the elementary school, something was wrong. The bright red flowers in the garden had turned gray. The blue playground swings hung like shadows.
"What happened to the colors?" she whispered.
Mrs. Deer, the brown-furred humanoid deer, dropped her box of art supplies. Crayons spilled across the sidewalk, but they were all colorless now.
"Tigress! Look at my supplies!" Mrs. Deer's dark brown eyes were wide with panic. "Everything turned gray five minutes ago!"
Tigress landed and picked up one of her giant crayons. She tried to draw a simple red line on the concrete, but nothing came out. Her marker was equally useless.
"This can't be happening," she said.
A small humanoid cricket with green wings hopped frantically from the school doorway. "The children inside are crying! All their artwork turned gray too!"
Mrs. Deer pointed down the street. "Mr. Bear's paint shop - look!"
Through the shop window, Tigress could see shelves of gray paint cans where vibrant colors once stood. Mr. Bear, a brown-furred humanoid bear, paced back and forth in confusion.
"Someone stole all the colors from our city," Tigress realized.
