The Great Cookie Catastrophe
Listen to audiobook
The Kitchen Symphony
Bruce whistled cheerfully as he walked through Giant World's enormous kitchen. The mixing bowls were big enough to swim in, and the wooden spoons towered like tree trunks. Today was perfect for baking his famous chocolate chip cookies for the village contest tomorrow.
"Just stay calm and everything will be perfect," he reminded himself, tying on his oversized apron.
Bruce cracked eggs the size of melons into the massive bowl. His gentle green hands measured flour carefully. The sugar sparkled like tiny diamonds in the afternoon sunlight streaming through windows as tall as buildings.
Everything was going wonderfully until he reached for the vanilla extract. The bottle slipped from his fingers and crashed to the floor, splattering everywhere.
"No, no, no!" Bruce's voice grew deeper. His skin began turning a darker shade of green.
The Musical Interruption
Bruce's muscles bulged as he grew bigger and angrier. His gentle blue eyes turned fierce. The kitchen counter cracked under his enormous green fists.
"HULK SMASH!" he roared, grabbing the giant mixing bowl.
Just then, cheerful music drifted through the open window. A festival had started in the village square below. A woman with short brown hair was teaching children to play tiny flutes that sounded like hummingbirds.
The sweet melody made Bruce pause. His breathing slowed. His muscles relaxed slightly, though his skin stayed dark green.
"Maybe I should go outside," he whispered to himself, still holding the bowl high above his head.
The music grew louder as more children joined in, their laughter mixing with the gentle tunes.
