Pink Scissors and Purple Eyes

Yuki adjusted her scissor-shaped hairpins and checked her reflection in the salon window. Her pink curls bounced as she turned her head, purple eyes sparkling with excitement.

"Today's the day!" she announced to her friends inside Magical Cuts salon. Maki looked up from organizing hair clips, her brown ponytail swishing. Yuko giggled while polishing a pair of silver scissors.

"Are you sure about this, Yuki?" Maki asked, worry creasing her brow. "Those boys haven't had haircuts in months. Their parents called three times yesterday."

Yuki tapped her scissors necklace confidently. "We're magical hairdressers! How hard can it be?"

Through the window, she spotted five figures approaching. Long, tangled hair covered their faces like curtains. They walked slowly, dragging their feet. One boy kept glancing back toward the street as if planning an escape route.

"Here they come," Yuko whispered.

Yuki's confident smile wavered slightly as she noticed how the boys' shoulders hunched with each step closer to the salon door.

The Unwilling Visitors

The salon door burst open with such force it rattled the scissors display. Five boys stumbled inside, pushed by their angry parents who stood blocking the exit.

"We're not doing this!" shouted the tallest boy, his greasy black hair hanging past his shoulders like curtains.

"Ren, sit down now," his mother commanded, pointing at the salon chairs.

Yuki watched in shock as the other boys pressed themselves against the far wall. Their long, tangled hair made it impossible to see their faces clearly. One boy with brown hair covering his eyes whispered something to another whose blonde locks were so matted they stuck out in odd angles.

"They look terrified," Maki said quietly.

"We don't care how scared you are," declared the shortest boy's father. "People keep mistaking you for girls! This ends today."

The boy named Riku started crying. "Please, we promise we'll brush it!"

"Too late for promises," another parent snapped.

Yuko stepped forward with her silver scissors, and all five boys screamed at once. They scrambled over each other trying to reach the door, but their parents stood firm.

"Girls," the first mother said to Yuki, "do whatever it takes. Their hair must be cut today."
