Morning Rounds and Missing Scissors

Dr. Blue stepped through the bright hallway of Sunnydale Hospital, her basket of rainbow lollipops swinging gently at her side. The morning sun painted everything in cheerful colors through the tall windows.

"Good morning, everyone!" she called to the children in the common room. Several girls waved excitedly from their chairs.

"Dr. Blue! Dr. Blue!" called out Emma, a seven-year-old with pigtails. "Is it really haircut day today?"

Dr. Blue's smile flickered for just a moment. "Yes, sweetie. Miss Strawberry will be here soon with her special scissors."

From behind a tower of building blocks, she heard frantic whispering. Apple's messy brown curls peeked out, followed by Hope's equally long blonde hair.

"She said scissors," Apple whispered loudly to Hope.

"The scary clippers too," Hope added, his green eyes wide with worry.

Dr. Blue knelt down beside them. "Boys, it's just a little trim. Miss Strawberry is very gentle."

But Apple and Hope had already disappeared behind the blocks again, plotting their escape.

The Blanket Mountain Mystery

Ten minutes later, the hospital's intercom crackled to life.

"Attention all patients! Miss Strawberry has arrived for haircut day. Please report to the recreation room immediately!"

Dr. Blue watched as the girls practically skipped toward the recreation room, chattering excitedly about new hairstyles. But Apple and Hope had vanished completely.

"Where did they go?" Dr. Blue muttered, checking behind curtains and under tables.

A soft thud echoed from the supply closet down the hall. Dr. Blue opened the door to find a mountain of blankets wobbling suspiciously.

"Boys, I can see your feet," she said gently.

"No feet here!" came Apple's muffled voice from inside the blanket pile. "Just... very hairy monsters!"

Hope giggled from somewhere in the middle. "Scary blanket monsters who don't need haircuts!"

Just then, Dr. Blue's older brother Dr. Black appeared in the doorway. His usually confident expression looked slightly pale.

"The barber chair makes that weird pumping sound," he whispered to Dr. Blue, adjusting his black coat nervously. "And Miss Strawberry brought those electric clippers that buzz like angry bees."

The blanket pile trembled even more violently.
