Morning Announcements

Melanie pushed her round glasses up her nose for the third time that morning. They kept sliding down while she read her Horrid Henry book at her desk. The classroom buzzed with chatter as kids settled in for the day.

"Good morning, class!" Miss Genevieve clapped her hands together. Her smile was extra bright today. "I have exciting news to share!"

Sabrina leaned over to whisper, "What do you think it is?"

Ryan bounced in his seat. "Maybe a field trip!"

Miss Genevieve held up a colorful flyer. "Today is special haircut day! Mr. Grey and Miss Lucky, our wonderful school hairdressers, will be here this afternoon to give everyone fresh new cuts!"

Melanie's eyes sparkled behind her glasses. This sounded amazing!

The Scissors Arrive

Melanie bounced in her purple shirt as excited chatter filled the room. "This is going to be so cool!" she said to Susie, adjusting her slipping glasses.

But across the classroom, three boys sat frozen at their desks. Tyler clutched his long shaggy hair. Ethan's eyes went wide with worry. Sammy shook his head hard.

"I don't want anyone cutting my hair," Tyler whispered to his friends.

"What if they mess it up?" Ethan added, running his fingers through his fluffy brown locks.

Just then, a woman with short silver hair peeked through the door. She wore a bright yellow apron covered in tiny scissors. "Hello, children! I'm Miss Lucky, your hairdresser today!"

Behind her stood a tall man with kind eyes. "And I'm Mr. Grey," he said with a gentle smile.
