Morning Observations

Marker Mother Goat stood on the observation deck of Marker Tower, watching the morning sun paint Fairy Tale Metropolis in golden streaks. Her giant blue marker gleamed at her side as she surveyed the colorful cityscape below.

"Good morning, beautiful," Bear Goldilocks said, stepping onto the deck with a steaming cup of porridge-flavored coffee. Her honey-colored fur caught the sunlight as she smiled warmly.

Wolf Red Riding Hood appeared moments later, adjusting her red hood over sleek gray fur. "The news reports are coming in," she announced, tablet in hand. "Something strange is happening downtown."

Marker Mother Goat's gentle blue eyes focused on the device. Three art supply stores had reported missing inventory overnight. Paintbrushes remained, canvases stayed put, but every single marker had vanished without explanation.

"That's odd," she murmured, her small curved horns catching the light as she tilted her head thoughtfully.

Bear Goldilocks frowned. "Who would steal just markers?"

Wolf Red Riding Hood scrolled through more reports. "It's not just theft. The store owners say the markers simply disappeared. No broken locks, no security footage of intruders."

The city's creative heartbeat seemed to skip as Marker Mother Goat considered this puzzle.

The Sparrow's Warning

Marker Mother Goat pressed a button on the tower's communication panel. "City Hall? We need to speak with Mayor Rapunzel immediately."

Bear Goldilocks set down her coffee cup. "Should we go investigate those stores?"

"Not yet," Marker Mother Goat replied. "Something this organized needs official attention first."

Within minutes, Mayor Rapunzel's voice crackled through the speaker. "Mother Goat! Perfect timing. We've got a crisis brewing."

Wolf Red Riding Hood leaned closer to the panel. "More missing markers?"

"Much worse," Mayor Rapunzel said. "Every art school in the city reported the same thing this morning. All their markers vanished overnight. Children arrived for classes to find empty supply closets."

Marker Mother Goat's gentle blue eyes widened. "That's thousands of markers."

"And here's the strange part," the Mayor continued. "A sparrow witnessed something at Creativity Elementary. She saw markers floating through the air by themselves, moving in perfect formation toward the old Music Festival Grounds."

Bear Goldilocks frowned. "Markers don't float."

"This sparrow insists they were glowing purple and moving like they had minds of their own," Mayor Rapunzel said. "She's here at City Hall if you want to question her."

Marker Mother Goat grabbed her giant blue marker. "We're coming down."
