Morning at the Fortress

Super Cosmo stretched her zebra-striped legs as the morning sun painted the sky purple and orange above Grassland Metropolis. Her okapi ears twitched at the familiar sounds drifting up from the city below—honking cars, chattering voices, and the cheerful ding of the breakfast bells from Tony's Pizza Palace.

She adjusted her bright blue cape and stepped onto the observation deck of her fortress. The star emblem on her chest glinted in the sunlight as she scanned the bustling streets filled with humans and animal folk heading to work.

"Another beautiful day to help people," she said, her warm brown fur catching the breeze.

Her phone buzzed with a text from Officer Martinez: "Quiet morning so far, Super C! Just minor traffic stuff."

Cosmo smiled and was about to reply when something odd caught her eye. Down at Tony's Pizza Palace, a delivery box floated past the window. Then another. She rubbed her blue eye mask and looked again.

"That's... weird," she muttered, watching a third pizza box drift lazily through the air like a balloon.

The Floating Mystery

Super Cosmo rubbed her blue eye mask again. Three more pizza boxes drifted past Tony's window like lazy butterflies.

"This can't be normal," she muttered, leaping from her fortress deck.

Her red cape streamed behind her as she glided down toward the pizza palace. The morning crowd of humans and animal folk on the sidewalk pointed up at the floating boxes, chattering excitedly.

"Look at that!"

"Pizza's flying away!"

Tony burst through his restaurant door, flour covering his apron. The elderly badger's whiskers twitched as he watched another delivery box escape through his window.

"Super Cosmo!" he called, waving his arms. "My pizzas won't stay in their boxes! Every time I close a lid, whoosh—off they go!"

She landed beside him, her zebra-striped legs steady on the sidewalk. "When did this start?"

"Twenty minutes ago. I thought maybe the delivery kid was playing tricks, but look!" Tony opened a fresh pizza box. The cheese-covered pizza inside immediately lifted up and floated toward the clouds.

"The pizza itself is floating?" Super Cosmo's okapi ears perked up.

More boxes drifted from other restaurants down the street.
