Morning Blues

Robo-Crayon rolled across the purple grass of Toy Planet, his chunky boots clicking against the crystalline surface. The blue sun cast everything in a cheerful glow, but something felt different this morning.

"Good morning, Stuffie!" he called to a pink elephant wearing a fluffy white towel.

The elephant's trunk drooped. "Oh, Robo-Crayon! I'm so worried. My best towel disappeared during the night!"

Robo-Crayon's glowing eyes blinked in surprise. "Disappeared? How strange."

"It's not just mine," squeaked a yellow bunny nearby, clutching a thin washcloth around herself. "Half the towels in Cottontail Valley are gone!"

From across the meadow, Captain Bolt, a silver action figure with a lightning bolt emblem, marched over with his cape fluttering. "This is clearly sabotage! Someone's trying to cause chaos on our peaceful planet."

Robo-Crayon's pointed crayon head tilted thoughtfully. "Let's not jump to conclusions, Captain. Maybe there's a logical explanation."

The captain's metal jaw clenched. "Logic? When stuffed animals are running around half-dressed? This calls for immediate action!"

The Puddle Clues

More stuffed animals began gathering around them. A purple koala wearing just a small hand towel looked embarrassed as she waddled over.

"My whole collection is gone too," the koala said sadly. "Even my special rainbow towel from the music festival last year."

Captain Bolt crossed his arms. "See? This proves it's organized crime. No random disappearance could be this thorough."

But Robo-Crayon noticed something odd. Water droplets sparkled on the purple grass near where each animal stood. He knelt down and touched one with his metal finger.

"These puddles are fresh," he said. "But it didn't rain last night."

A smart-looking fox with short, neat fur trotted up to them. "Actually, it did rain. Just before dawn. I was awake reading and heard it clearly."

Captain Bolt spun around. "Rain doesn't steal towels!"

"No," Robo-Crayon agreed, his glowing eyes brightening. "But what if something else happened during the rain?"

The fox tilted her head thoughtfully. "I did hear some strange splashing sounds. Much louder than normal raindrops."

Suddenly, the ground beneath them began trembling. All the toys looked around nervously as the vibrations grew stronger.
