The Invention Accident

Morning at the Fortress
Crayon Jack stood in his workshop on the top floor of the blue tower, adjusting his light blue mask. The morning sun streamed through the tall windows of Crayon Fortress, casting colorful shadows across Forest Meadow City below.
"Jack! Breakfast is ready!" called Darlene Deer from downstairs. Her voice echoed up through the spiraling staircase.
He glanced at his latest creation sitting on the metal workbench. The drawing device looked like a silver tablet with glowing blue circuits running along its edges. Three crystal lenses jutted out from the top, each one humming softly.
"Just five more minutes!" Jack called back, picking up his giant glowing blue crayon. He had been working on this invention for weeks, trying to perfect the energy calibration settings.
Grace Goat poked her head through the doorway, wearing her favorite purple house coat. "You said that yesterday too," she said with a smile.
"This time I mean it," Jack replied, not looking up from his work. The device's blue glow pulsed faster as he made another adjustment to the control panel.
The Purple Glow
Stella Sheep bounded up the spiral staircase, her fluffy white wool bouncing with each step. She wore a bright pink towel wrapped around her like a dress.
"Jack, you have to see this!" she called out, bursting into the workshop.
Jack looked up from his drawing device just as the three crystal lenses began spinning wildly. The blue circuits along the edges flashed faster and faster.
"Stella, wait—" Jack reached for the power switch, but it was too late.
A brilliant flash filled the room. When the light faded, a small blue robot stood on Jack's workbench, blinking its round yellow eyes. It looked exactly like one of Jack's old sketches.
"Beep boop! Where am I?" the robot asked in a tiny metallic voice.
Stella gasped. "Did your machine just bring your drawing to life?"
Jack stared at the robot, then at his device. The crystal lenses had stopped spinning, but they were now glowing a deep purple instead of blue.
"I think something went very wrong," Jack said quietly.
The robot hopped off the workbench and began marching toward the window, its tiny metal feet clanking against the floor.
