Morning Patrol
Creative Crayon Buck stood at the highest window of the Creative Crayon Fortress, watching the morning sunlight reflect off the blue glass panels. The four crayon towers stretched toward the sky like colorful sentinels protecting Craft Room City below.
"Another peaceful day," Buck said to himself, adjusting his black sunglass goggles. His light blue cape fluttered gently in the breeze coming through the open window.
The city bustled with activity. Humanoid deer walked alongside humans on the streets, carrying art supplies and chatting about their latest projects. Buck's keen eyes scanned the familiar scene, looking for anything unusual.
His communication device beeped suddenly. Buck picked it up and heard Chief Rodriguez's urgent voice crackling through the speaker.
"Buck, we need you at headquarters immediately. We have a missing person case that requires your special skills."
Buck's ears perked up. Missing person cases were serious business in Craft Room City.
"On my way, Chief," Buck replied, already moving toward the door.
The Vanishing Problem
Buck raced down the spiral staircase of the Creative Crayon Fortress, his cape flowing behind him. The headquarters building stood just three blocks away, its glass walls reflecting the morning light.
Inside the police station, Chief Rodriguez waited at her desk. She was a middle-aged human woman with short black hair and brown eyes, wearing a crisp blue uniform. Her serious expression made Buck's stomach tighten.
"Buck, meet Maya Chen," the Chief said, gesturing to a young woman sitting nearby. Maya had long brown hair pulled into a messy ponytail and worried green eyes. She wore paint-stained jeans and a yellow sweater.
"My daughter Lily disappeared yesterday," Maya said, her voice shaking. "She's only twelve years old and... she has a condition. Sometimes she turns invisible without meaning to."
Buck's ears perked forward. "Invisible?"
"She can't control it when she gets scared or upset," Maya continued. "I've searched everywhere. The art school, the park, even the old music shop on Fifth Street. But if she's invisible..."
Chief Rodriguez leaned forward. "We need someone who can think differently about this case. Someone with special abilities."
Buck adjusted his goggles. A missing child who could turn invisible would be almost impossible to find using normal methods.
