The Mirror Dimension Mix-Up
Listen to audiobook
The Ordinary Tuesday
Creator Buck adjusted his black sunglass goggles as he stood in the main tower of Cervine Creative Fortress. Through the blue windows, Super City sparkled below with busy humanoid deer and humans going about their morning routines.
"Another peaceful day," he said to himself, stretching his tall antlers. His light blue cape fluttered behind him as he walked to his workstation.
Buck loved mornings like this. No villains causing trouble, no emergencies requiring his forty-three superpowers. Just time to focus on his creative imagination projects.
He pulled out his latest invention—a mirror device designed to reflect creative energy. The surface gleamed silver, perfectly smooth.
"Time to test this beauty," Buck said, pressing a small blue button on the side.
The mirror began to hum softly. Its surface rippled like water, then settled into something that looked almost too real—like a window instead of a reflection.
Buck leaned closer, fascinated by the strange effect.
The Unwelcome Visitor
The surface of the mirror suddenly rippled again, but this time something pushed through from the other side. Buck stepped back, his black sunglass goggles reflecting the strange silver light.
A hand emerged first—wearing blue gloves exactly like his own. Then an arm in a black sleeve. Buck's jaw dropped as another humanoid deer climbed out of the mirror, looking exactly like him but with one major difference: this other Buck wore a sinister grin.
"Well, well," the mirror Buck said, his voice darker than Buck's. "Time for a little switch, don't you think?"
Before Buck could react, the evil twin grabbed his cape and yanked him toward the mirror. Buck stumbled forward, his hooves slipping on the smooth fortress floor.
"Wait! Who are you?" Buck shouted.
"I'm you, but better," the dark Buck laughed. "Evil Buck from the mirror dimension. And now I'm taking your place!"
Buck felt himself falling through the mirror's surface like cold water. The last thing he saw was his evil twin adjusting the stolen light blue cape and walking toward the fortress door with Buck's own confident stride.
