Morning Announcements

Megan adjusted her red glasses and smoothed down her dress as she walked through the hallways of Willow Tree School. The morning sun streamed through the tall windows, casting long shadows on the polished floors.

"Good morning, students!" Principal Patterson's voice crackled through the speakers. "Don't forget that today is our monthly haircut day with Miss Diamond. All students will visit the health office during their assigned times."

Charlie Brown slumped against his locker nearby, his face pale. "Oh no," he whispered, clutching his books tighter. "Not Miss Diamond again."

Megan noticed her friend's distressed expression. She had heard stories about the school's hairdresser - how her scissors gleamed like silver lightning and how she worked with swift, decisive cuts that made even the bravest students nervous.

"Charlie, you look like you've seen a ghost," Megan said, walking over to him.

"Worse," Charlie replied, his voice barely audible. "I have to get my hair cut today."

The Security Blanket Solution

Linus van Pelt appeared around the corner, dragging his blue security blanket behind him. "Did someone say Miss Diamond?" he asked, adjusting his striped shirt.

"Charlie's terrified of getting his hair cut," Megan explained, pushing her red glasses up her nose.

"She's not that scary," Linus said, though his voice wavered slightly. "I mean, she just cuts really, really fast."

Charlie groaned and slid down against his locker until he was sitting on the floor. "What if she cuts it too short? What if I look ridiculous? What if Vivian thinks I look weird?"

"Vivian?" Megan raised her eyebrows. "The Little Red-Haired Girl?"

Charlie's face turned pink. "Maybe."

Just then, Lucy van Pelt stormed down the hallway, her dark hair bouncing with each angry step. "Where's my brother?" she demanded. "Linus, you forgot your lunch money again!"

"Lucy, Charlie needs help," Megan said quickly. "He's scared of Miss Diamond."

Lucy rolled her eyes. "Oh please. Miss Diamond is perfectly fine. She gave me the best haircut last month." She fluffed her hair proudly. "See? Perfect."

"But what if—" Charlie started.

"No buts," Lucy interrupted. "You're being ridiculous, Charlie Brown."
