The Scissor Squad Showdown
Listen to audiobook
Pink Scissors and Purple Eyes
Yuki adjusted her scissor hairpins and smiled at her reflection in the salon mirror. Her pink curls bounced as she practiced her greeting for the day's customers. The Magical Hair Studio in Nakaibito village sparkled with morning sunlight streaming through the windows.
"Good morning, Yuki!" called Maki from the next station, her own magical scissors gleaming. "Ready for another day of beautiful hair?"
Yuko waved from across the salon, already preparing her tools. The three magical girls had opened their salon together, combining their powers to create the most wonderful hairstyles in the village.
Yuki's purple eyes caught movement outside the window. Five boys with long, tangled hair were walking past, their heads down. Their parents followed behind, looking frustrated and tired.
"Those poor boys," Yuki whispered. "Their hair looks like it hasn't been cut in months."
The boys glanced at the salon and immediately quickened their pace, practically running away from the bright pink building.
The Tangled Truth
Mrs. Tanaka burst through the salon doors, dragging her son Ren by the wrist. Four other mothers followed, each pulling a boy with long, tangled hair.
"Please help us!" Mrs. Tanaka pleaded. "These boys refuse to cut their hair. People think they're girls!"
Ren yanked his arm free, his dark eyes wide with terror. "No scissors! Please, no scissors!"
His friend Riku pressed against the wall. "We don't want haircuts!"
Yuki stepped forward gently. "What happened? Why are you so scared?"
"The bullies," whispered Haruto, his voice shaking. "Daiki and Sato... they cut chunks from our hair with giant scissors. Ryusei, their leader, laughed while we cried."
Kenji nodded frantically. "Now we're too scared to let anyone near us with scissors."
The fifth boy, Hiroto, hid behind his mother. "What if you cut us like they did?"
Maki and Yuko exchanged worried glances. These weren't just messy haircuts - these were traumatized children.
"We have to help them," Yuki said quietly.
But the boys backed toward the door, ready to bolt again.
