Morning Routine

Crayon Ram stood at the window of his tower, watching the sun rise over Canvas Meadow Metropolis. The city sparkled below him like scattered jewels. Cars moved along the streets in neat rows, and the morning joggers looked like tiny ants from this height.

He picked up his giant blue crayon and spun it between his fingers. Today felt different somehow. The air seemed to hum with possibility.

"Another peaceful day," he said to himself, adjusting his red mask in the reflection of the window.

His phone buzzed on the desk. Mayor Brushfield's name appeared on the screen.

"Crayon Ram, we need you downtown immediately," the mayor's voice crackled through the speaker. "Something strange is happening in Art Square. The statue of Vincent Van Goat is... moving."

Crayon Ram's confident eyes widened. He gripped his crayon tighter.

"Moving? What do you mean moving?"

"Just get here fast. And bring that big crayon of yours."

The line went dead. Crayon Ram looked out at his peaceful city one more time.

The Bronze Voice

Crayon Ram launched himself from the tower window, his blue cape streaming behind him. The wind rushed past his curled tan horns as he soared toward downtown Canvas Meadow Metropolis.

Art Square buzzed with confused citizens pointing at the bronze statue in the center. Vincent Van Goat, the famous artist memorial, was indeed moving. The statue swayed back and forth, its bronze brush arm waving wildly in the air.

"Stand back, everyone!" Crayon Ram called as he landed with a thud on the cobblestones.

A small otter in a postal uniform scurried up to him, clutching a mail bag tightly.

"Officer Whiskers, Mail Division," the otter squeaked nervously. "I was delivering letters when that thing started dancing! Is it supposed to do that?"

Crayon Ram studied the statue with his bright, confident eyes. Bronze shouldn't move like that. He gripped his giant blue crayon tighter.

Suddenly, the statue's bronze eyes began to glow. Vincent Van Goat turned its heavy head toward them.

"Welcome, Crayon Ram," the statue spoke in a deep, metallic voice. "Your creations have awakened us all."

The ram superhero's mask couldn't hide his shocked expression.
