Lightning Crayon Doe stretched her arms as sunlight streamed through the tall windows of Lightning Crayon Tower. Her blue and black supersuit gleamed with fresh energy. She grabbed her phone from the nightstand and noticed seventeen missed messages in the Forest Metropolis Artists Group chat.

"What's all this excitement about?" she muttered, scrolling through the buzzing conversation.

The messages were all about something called the Silent Masterpiece Contest. Artists from across the city were talking about it nonstop. No speaking allowed during the entire competition. Only gestures and drawings to communicate.

Her friend Sketch Rabbit had sent the most recent message: "Doe! You HAVE to enter this! It's perfect for someone with your creative powers!"

Lightning Crayon Doe's eyes sparkled with curiosity. A contest where she couldn't use words? That sounded like the ultimate creative challenge. She'd always relied on her lightning-fast art skills, but this would push her in completely new ways.

She leaped from her bed and flew toward her art studio.

The Prize Worth Fighting For

Lightning Crayon Doe zoomed into her art studio and skidded to a stop. Paint tubes and brushes scattered across her worktable from yesterday's project. She grabbed her laptop and pulled up the contest registration page.

"Silent Masterpiece Contest," she read aloud. "Three rounds of competition. No verbal communication allowed. Judged by the Forest Metropolis Art Council."

Her phone buzzed with a video call from Sketch Rabbit, a gray rabbit with paint-stained paws.

"Doe! Did you see the prize?" Sketch Rabbit's ears twitched with excitement. "The winner gets their artwork displayed in the new Forest Metropolis Museum for a whole year!"

Lightning Crayon Doe's eyes widened. The museum was the most prestigious art venue in the city. Every artist dreamed of showing there.

"But here's the weird part," Sketch Rabbit continued, lowering her voice. "I heard some contestants are trying to find ways around the no-talking rule. My friend saw someone testing tiny earpiece devices at the art supply store yesterday."

Lightning Crayon Doe frowned. Cheating in an art contest? That seemed impossible to believe, but Sketch Rabbit's worried expression looked genuine.
