Pink Paradise

Felix kicked a pebble down the sunny Brisbane street. His black combat boots made satisfying thuds against the pavement. The star hairpin in his blonde hair caught the morning light.

"There's that place again," muttered Vic, pushing his glasses up his nose. His blue hair stuck out in odd directions.

Ahead stood Miss Lolly's salon. Pink everything sparkled through the windows. Hair dryers, chairs, even the walls glowed bright pink. A hand-painted sign read "Lolly's Hair Paradise" in swirling letters.

"Ugh," groaned Adam, running fingers through his strawberry-blonde hair. "She probably has those evil clippers in there."

Nat shivered despite the warm Australian sun. "Don't even think about it."

Felix peered closer at the salon. Through the glass, he spotted Miss Lolly styling someone's hair with scissors. Not clippers. Just scissors.

The Pink Paradise Problem

The twins Mason and Nathan burst around the corner, both panting hard. Mason's red hair stuck to his sweaty forehead.

"Felix! Vic!" Nathan called out, waving his arms wildly. "You guys need to see this!"

Adam crossed his arms. "What's got you two so worked up?"

"Miss Lolly's salon," Mason gasped between breaths. "There's this huge sign in the window."

Nathan nodded frantically. "It says 'CLOSING SOON - LAST WEEK!'"

Felix felt his stomach drop. Through the pink windows, he could see Miss Lolly sitting alone at her styling chair. Her shoulders shook like she was crying.

"So what?" Vic said, but his voice sounded smaller than usual.

"The whole street's talking about it," Mason explained. "Some big company wants to tear it down and build a parking lot."
