The Messenger's Arrival

Anisa sat beneath the golden apple tree, watching butterflies dance between purple wildflowers. The Golden Kingdom stretched endlessly around her, warm sunshine making everything glow like honey.

"Another perfect day," she said, picking a daisy and twirling it between her fingers.

A distant horn echoed across the fields. Anisa jumped up, shading her eyes with her hand. A rider approached on a white horse, wearing silver armor that sparkled in the light.

The messenger dismounted near the palace gates, his face serious. Anisa crept closer, curious about the urgency in his movements.

"I bring word from the Silver Kingdom," the man announced to the palace guards. "King Frost requests an audience with Queen Sunbeam. The matter is most urgent."

Anisa's heart skipped. King Frost? She'd heard whispered stories about the handsome ruler of the ice lands. What could bring him here to their warm kingdom?

The messenger handed over a sealed letter with a silver frost pattern along its edges.

The Sparrow's Warning

Queen Sunbeam rushed from the palace, her golden gown flowing behind her. Anisa watched from behind the apple tree as the queen approached the messenger.

"Your Majesty," the messenger bowed deeply. "King Frost awaits your answer. He must choose between two kingdoms before the next full moon."

"Two kingdoms?" Queen Sunbeam's voice carried worry.

"The Silver Kingdom, where Queen Icela rules beside him, and your Golden Kingdom. He seeks your hand in marriage, but the choice will determine which realm he calls home forever."

Anisa gasped. King Frost wanted to marry Queen Sunbeam? But he already had Queen Icela in the Silver Kingdom?

A small sparrow landed on Anisa's shoulder, chirping urgently. She looked up to see dark clouds gathering despite the sunny morning.

"The weather magic responds to royal hearts in turmoil," the sparrow whispered. "When kings face impossible choices, nature itself grows restless."

Queen Sunbeam clutched the frosty letter. "Tell King Frost he may visit tomorrow. I must understand what troubles him so deeply."

The messenger mounted his horse and galloped away. Thunder rumbled overhead as the first raindrops began to fall.
