Swirling Currents

Whisper Wind spun lazily through the deep ocean water, her colorful whirlwind form creating tiny bubbles that tickled her big green eyes. The Sunken Shipyard stretched below her like a forgotten city. Broken masts poked up from the sandy floor, and rusty anchors lay scattered between patches of swaying seaweed.

"This place feels different today," she whispered to herself, noticing unusual movement near the largest shipwreck.

A sleek dolphin darted past, followed by a bright orange octopus. Then came a school of fish swimming in perfect formation. More sea creatures appeared—crabs scuttling sideways, seahorses bobbing up and down, even a massive whale gliding overhead.

"Where is everyone going?" Whisper wondered aloud, spinning faster with curiosity.

The Cricket's Warning

Whisper Wind followed the stream of sea creatures toward a massive ship hull. The biggest wreck in the Sunken Shipyard had been turned into something amazing. Colorful flags made from kelp stretched between broken masts. Shells and coral pieces marked out lanes in the sand.

"Welcome to the Underwater Racing Championship!" squeaked a tiny voice.

A bright green cricket sat on a piece of driftwood, wearing a seaweed whistle around his neck. His name was Chirp, and he was the race announcer.

"But there's trouble," Chirp whispered, looking around nervously. "Some racers are hiding special speed jellies in boxes near the starting line. They plan to eat them right before the race to swim faster than anyone else!"

Whisper's green eyes widened. That wasn't fair at all.
