Morning Routines

Ms. Crayon Camel stretched her powerful limbs as sunlight streamed through the crystal windows of her castle. The morning air felt crisp against her black supersuit with its light blue outlines.

"Another beautiful day in Canvas Zoo city," she said, adjusting her glowing blue mask. She reached for her giant magic crayon, feeling its familiar weight in her hands.

Walking to her favorite balcony, she gazed down at the bustling streets below. Humans and humanoid animals hurried to work, their colorful clothes brightening the morning scene. A lesbian couple walked hand in hand near the fountain, laughing together.

Ms. Crayon Camel raised her magic crayon to add some cheerful yellow streaks to the sky. She concentrated, focusing her energy into the tip.

Nothing happened.

She frowned and tried again, pointing the crayon at a nearby flower bed. Still nothing.

"That's odd," she muttered, examining the crayon carefully. It looked perfectly normal, but something felt different about it today.

The Art Shop Discovery

Ms. Crayon Camel stepped outside her castle, determined to test her magic crayon on something bigger. She pointed it at the gray fountain in the town square, concentrating harder than ever.

A tiny spark flickered at the crayon's tip, then died.

"Excuse me, are you alright?" asked a gentle voice.

Ms. Crayon Camel turned to see a small koala wearing a paint-splattered apron. The koala had kind brown eyes and fluffy gray fur with white patches on her chest.

"I'm Ruby," the koala said, wiping paint from her paws. "I run the art supplies shop down the street. I noticed you looked frustrated."

"My magic crayon isn't working," Ms. Crayon Camel admitted. "It's never failed me before."

Ruby's ears perked up. "That's strange. My customers have been complaining all morning that their paints and markers aren't working either. Mrs. Peterson said her watercolors turned completely gray."

Ms. Crayon Camel's heart sank. If other art supplies were failing too, this wasn't just about her crayon.

"Ruby, I think Canvas Zoo city has a much bigger problem than we realized."
