The Flickering Screen

Gekko curled up on the couch with his friends Catboy and Owlette. The afternoon sun streamed through the window as they watched their favorite show.

"Look, it's Garfield!" Owlette pointed at the orange cat on screen.

Suddenly, the TV screen began to flicker. The colors shifted from normal to a strange yellow glow.

"That's weird," Catboy said, leaning forward.

On screen, Arlene the pink cat was talking to Garfield when something unexpected happened. The picture wobbled, and Arlene seemed to step backwards into the yellow background.

"Wait, where did she go?" Gekko asked, his green eyes wide.

The TV screen now showed only endless yellow hallways stretching in all directions. The cheerful cartoon music had stopped, replaced by an eerie silence.

"This doesn't look like the regular show," Owlette whispered.

The Pull

The yellow glow from the TV grew brighter. Gekko felt a strange pulling sensation in his stomach.

"Guys, something's happening!" he called out.

Before anyone could move, the room around them began to shimmer. The couch, the walls, even their superhero costumes flickered like the TV screen had moments before.

"We're being pulled in!" Owlette shouted, reaching for Catboy's hand.

The world spun around them in swirls of yellow light. When everything stopped spinning, Gekko found himself standing in a long, narrow hallway. The walls, ceiling, and carpet were all the same shade of yellow as the TV screen.

"Where are we?" Catboy whispered, his blue ears twitching nervously.

A familiar orange cat walked around the corner, grinning widely. It was Garfield, but something seemed different about his smile.
