When Animals Become Directors
Listen to audiobook
Unexpected Visitors
Emma skipped through the front door of the magical animal house, her yellow dress bouncing with each step. The living room buzzed with excitement as animals filled every corner.
A pink flamingo strutted across the coffee table. "I should direct the tent show!" she announced, spreading her wings wide.
"No way!" growled a striped orange tiger from his favorite armchair. "Directors need to be fierce!"
An enormous gray elephant trumpeted loudly. "What about me? I'm the biggest!"
A chattering brown monkey swung from the ceiling fan. "Size doesn't matter! I have the best ideas!"
Emma's blue eyes sparkled as she watched the scene unfold. A spotted dog wagged his tail frantically while a masked raccoon peeked out from behind the curtains.
"We need a tent show!" squeaked the dog. "But who will perform if we're all directing?"
The animals fell silent, looking puzzled.
Buzzing Visitors
Emma clapped her hands together. "What if we have tryouts?" she suggested brightly.
The flamingo fluffed her pink feathers. "Tryouts for what?"
"For both directing AND performing!" Emma grinned.
Just then, a tiny hummingbird zipped through the open window. Her emerald green wings buzzed so fast they blurred. "Did someone say tryouts?" she chirped excitedly. "I love tryouts!"
The tiger's orange ears perked up. "But we all want to direct!"
"Then we'll ALL audition for director!" the hummingbird declared, hovering near Emma's shoulder.
The elephant trumpeted nervously. "What if nobody's good at directing?"
The monkey swung down from the ceiling fan. "What if we're ALL terrible at it?"
The raccoon peeked out further from behind the curtains, his black mask twitching with worry.
